On Saturday, March 19, 2016 the Lord in his infinite wisdom deemed it time to call our beloved, Keswick to his eternal resting place. His departure is a deep loss to friends and family members. Keswick matriculated studies at Queensborough Community College, New York, NY- Bayside and graduated in the class of 1974.
From January 1976 to March 1979, Kez was a Department Manager of Saks Fifth Avenue and resided in Hollis New York. Kez was an entrepreneur working with small businesses and always encouraging and sponsoring others, youth and adults to share in this experience of owning a business or learning stewardship principles. Kez and his former wife, Mildred Harris, raised five children. He loved history documentation and stimulated his children to engage in history. He was chairman of the Seminole County McKnight Achievers, which celebrated African American children who had achieved Academic Excellence. He taught in the Orange County public school systems as a substitute teacher and also taught at Apopka’s John Bridges Center in The Youth Entrepreneurship program. Kez also participated in charities with the NAACP and served on the Trustee board of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida.
While residing in Orlando, he was involved in many business ventures and community activities, which included Prime America and sales for Lexus. In the Vacation industry, he worked for Marriott Starwood and Wyndham Hotels. He also traveled immensely. Kez completed his Real Estate license and he was so “excited about being a real estate investor to make a better life for him and his family”.
He loved his children and one of his Facebook post stated, “My grands are beautiful just like my children. I’m so proud of all of you. You are truly a blessing to my life….I thank you for being so great. Love, Dad”. He loved the Lord and was a proud member of Majestic Life Ministries in Orlando, FL. His focus was to complete all the “Next Step” classes at church and he did.
Keswick also known as “Kezzy” Kez leaves to cherish his abundant memories: His eldest son Jordan Harris, second eldest Harold Lee-James Harris, eldest daughter Nicole Asia Harris, Youngest daughter and son; Jo-Anne Harris, and Reginald Harris. Also two grandchildren; Kay-Lee Maria Harris and Jayden Lamar Harris; cousins, and a beloved friend, Adrienne Lowery along with a host of other relatives’ friends and church family.
Arrangements under the direction of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, WINTER PARK, FL.
