Linda Chambers, born on August 10, 1940, in Rapid City, South Dakota, was called to her eternal home on September 5, 2024. She was the cherished daughter of Tibbs and Norma Maxey and the beloved wife of Roger Chambers, whom she married on June 4, 1960. Roger, who passed away in 1988, was deeply missed by Linda for the rest of her life.
Linda’s life was a testament to her faith and love. She is survived by her four children: Leigh-Angela Holbrook (Jeff), Leslie Wood (Shan), Arron Chambers (Rhonda), and Adam Chambers (Patricia). Her legacy continues through her eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, who carry forward her love of ministry and service.
Linda is also survived by her sister Judi Clark, her sister Dale Owens, and her brother Warren Maxey. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Marilyn Lewis.
A devout Christian, Linda’s life was a reflection of her unwavering faith and love for her family. Next to her faith, her family was the most cherished aspect of her life. She traveled extensively with each of her children and their families. She enjoyed singing, music and deep conversations. She touched many lives with her kindness and grace, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
A private graveside service for immediate family will be held. In keeping with Linda’s love of the church and those in ministry, the family requests that all gifts be directed to your local ministry staff in her honor.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
