

Marjorie Wilson Swope Hand, who was 94 years old, died on December 30, 2012 just 2 days after her 94th birthday in Winter Park, Florida. She was born in Winchester, Kentucky and grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. Her parents were the late John Clark Swope and Mary E. Swope. Marjorie accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1930 and was baptized at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville.
Marjorie graduated from Atherton Girls High School and attended University of Louisville and University of Kentucky. She married Stanley I. Hand in 1941. Marjorie is survived by her devoted husband, Colonel (Ret) Stanley I. Hand, Sr.; son, Dr. Stanley I. Hand, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Joanne I. Hand; three grandsons: Matthew (Monica), Jonathan (Kasiah), and Joshua; and six great grandchildren: Sarah, Aleah, Gavin, Bryce, Benjamin, and Caleb.
A graveside service will be held at Cave Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, January 8. Memorial donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund, the First Academy, First Baptist Church Orlando, 2667 Burton Boulevard, Orlando, Florida 32805.
