In loving memory of our Dad who passed away on August 2, 2016, just two days shy of his 90th Birthday. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 4, 1926. He attended High School in Brooklyn, New York. Richard entered the United States Navy on November 17, 1944. He served for two years during World War II and received an Honorable Discharge on March 27, 1946. He lived on Long Island, New York with his wife Garnett and worked for a manufacturing company as a Pressman. They moved to Winter Park, Florida in 1977 and established a ceramic business. He attended local art shows and received several ribbons for their artistic work. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Garnett and survived by his son, Rick Burns and wife Linda of Orlando, Florida; daughter, Barbara Tedder and husband Steve of Lansing, North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael Tedder, Alicia, Bryan and April Burns and great-grandson Kyle Salati. He also left behind his two beloved dogs, Precious and Sugar, who were always by his side. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Baldwin Fairchild Goldenrod Chapel, 7520 Aloma Avenue, Winter park, Florida. Burial to follow at Glen Heaven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida.
