Robert “Bob” Lester Ashton, 74, of Oviedo, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025. Born in Princeton, Kentucky, on May 5, 1951, Bob lived a life full of adventure, dedication, and love. He found joy in traveling the world with his wife Patti, playing golf, savoring fine wine, listening to Jimmy Buffet, watching Florida Gators Football and yes, he also loved working. Bob cherished spending time with his six grandchildren and treasured his time at his vacation home in Gold Beach, Oregon, where he created lasting memories with family and friends.
A passionate entrepreneur, Bob took great pride in owning and operating an insurance company and bond agency. His work was not just a career—it was a calling that reflected his integrity, leadership, and commitment to helping others. Bob was passionate when it came to providing solutions for his clients, no matter how challenging the situation and took great pride in celebrating those wins with his clients.
Bob is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Louise Nordgren Ashton, and his brother, Richard Alan Ashton. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia “Patti” Ashton; his daughter, Kellie (Ashton) Landwer; his son, Robert “Blair” Ashton (Jaeann); his stepdaughter, Lara Ruddy; and his adored grandchildren: Remy Tellier, Juliana Ashton, Beckett Ashton, Adair Landwer, Phoebe Landwer, and Whitney Landwer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Goldenrod/Winter Park Funeral Home. Family visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow the Celebration of Life at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Bob will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
