

Robert A. Fagan, Jr., of Orlando, passed away on August 21, 2024. He was surrounded by his three children and wife of 39 years. He was born in Jamestown, New York, on September 7, 1954. Bob graduated from North Carolina Vocational Textile School and received an Associate’s Degree. He was married to Alice Jewel Fagan on August 18, 1985. Bob had a prolific career in Information Technology working for companies such as IBM, Northrop Grumman and FEMA. He served in the Marines as a Sergeant where he worked in helicopter avionics with the Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1).
He had a passion for cars and was lovingly known within the Formula Drift community as “Grandpa Drift”. He could always be found tinkering with computers, gadgets and music. He had a knack for never forgetting the exact dates of all the concerts he attended, especially his favorite, The Rolling Stones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Anna Fagan as well as his father-in-law, J.B. Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Alice, her mother, Yukiko Stewart, his three children, Rachel Hardway, Nicole Fagan and Jewel Guerette, along with their husbands and children, Charles Hardway, Mike Guerette, Charlie Hardway, Logan Hardway and James Burke “JB”Guerette. He was the oldest of six, affectionately referred to as the “Six Pack”: Ray Fagan, Greg Fagan, Laurie Messerschmidt, Dawne Hoffman and Kim Carman. He is also survived by their spouses, Trena Fagan, Mike Messerschmidt, Eric Hoffman and Pat Carman.
Though he had a vast number of accomplishments in his career, Bob was a family man through and through. If you knew him even for just a few seconds, you knew how long he was married, that Alice was his best friend and some sort of detail about each of his children. He was known amongst his friends and family for his kindness, laughter and his affinity for throwing a thumbs up.
A private interment for Bob took place on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Florida National Cemetery.
