

Robert S. Lawrence, LTC, (Ret.) USAR, 86, of Orlando, FL joined his Lord on December 12, 2014. Robert was born April 13, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Burt and Grace Lawrence. Raised in Chicago, Illinois, he attended Northwestern Military and Naval Academy in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He graduated along with his wife Gloria, the love of his life, from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas with a B.S. Degree. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant from the ROTC. He served his country for 22 years with the US Army Transportation Corp. He was a helicopter and fixed wing pilot. He served in Germany, two tours of duty in Viet Nam, and four years with JUSMAGG in Athens, Greece. After service to his country he worked for CCA Electronics Corporation as General Director for the International Division in Athens Greece. Following that he retired to Orlando and worked for International Laser/Litton Laser Systems.
Throughout his life he was a servant of God as a member and Elder of the Community of Christ Church. Robert also served on the Board of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orlando. He was known by many as generous, kind, and loving man who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Gloria, his son Russell Lawrence and wife JoDe, son Mark Lawrence, daughter Debbie North and husband Tom North along with his grandchildren, Michael Culligan, Olivia Lawrence, Robin Lawrence, Daniel Niccum, Emma North and William North.
Viewing will be held Friday, December 19th at Baldwin-Fairchild Ivanhoe from 6:00-8:00pm. Celebration of Life service Saturday, December 20th, 10:00 am at Community of Christ Church, 1006 Clay Street, Winter Park. Graveside Service following at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Gotha.
