

In loving memory, Robert Foster Wilkinson, age 90, of Winter Park FL, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2011. He was born on September 23, 1920 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England to Edward and Clara Foster Wilkinson. Robert attended London University, where he received a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1941 and a Bachelor of Science in 1942. After university, he was drafted by the British Defense Department where he worked in the Research and Development Department during WWII. He met and married Dorothy Seckle while on an exchange posting. They lived in England for three years before transferring to Quebec, Canada, where he was given a job in the Canadian Defense Department. He worked in Canada until his retirement at age 57. After he retired, he moved to Winter Park, Florida, where he became very involved with The English Speaking Union and The University Club. He is survived by his step-son, Robert Sheetz and wife, Jacqueline; his step-daughter, Dorothea G. Sheetz Lyddy; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy L. Wilkinson. Memorial services will be held on May 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at The University Club in Winter Park, FL.
