

MAGUIRE, SARA (“Skippy”) CORRY, 86, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012. A Quincy, FL native; Sara was born on January 13, 1926, the second child of Henry Edmund and Alice Steed Corry. Her paternal grandfather, William Merrill Corry, and her father grew and processed shade tobacco in Quincy, Florida from 1889 to 1959. Sara’s maternal grandparents, were William Archy Steed and Willa Merrie Morgan. Sara’s parents were married in 1921 in Kissimmee, Florida. After graduating from Quincy High School, Sara graduated from Fairfax Hall Junior College in Virginia and then from the Florida State College for Women (Florida State University) in 1947 with a teaching degree. She was a member of the FSCW chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. In 1948, Sara married Furman Hunt Limeburner of Philadelphia, Pa., but became a young widow. In 1951, she married Raymer F. Maguire, Jr. of Orlando who predeceased her in 2003.
Sara was a past president of the Junior League of Greater Orlando and a member of the Florida State Society Daughters of the American Revolution; the Historical Society of Central Florida; the Orlando Garden Club; the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America; the Rosalind Club of Orlando; and the Country Club of Orlando.
Survivors include: son, Dr. Craig Corry Maguire; granddaughter, Patricia Alice Maguire; son, Raymer F. Maguire, III; (Susan Dean Maguire); granddaughter, Ferrell S. Maguire; grandsons, Raymer F. Maguire, IV and Corry M. Maguire; daughter, Sara Maguire LeMone; (Robert M. LeMone, deceased); grandson, David M. LeMone; (Kalle H. LeMone); granddaughter, Sara Emily LeMone; son, Dr. Edmund Corry Maguire; (Jane R. Maguire); granddaughter, Abigail R. Maguire; grandson, Cole Corry Maguire; brother, Henry Edmund Corry, Jr. (Carol Jean Corry); mother-in-law, Charlotte E. Maguire, M.D.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 3PM at First United Methodist Church Orlando. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, Sara graciously suggests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice or the youth program of the First United Methodist Church Orlando, 142 E.
