

William Lawrence Irvine died at home of natural causes on June 4, 2012, after expressing his wish to go to his home in heaven. He is predeceased by his parents, William Blanton Irvine and Katherine Donald Irvine, and Betty Louise, his wife of 60 years. He is also reunited with his son Chuck and daughter Diana. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and David Maddox and Janet and Gary Emerson. He also leaves his example of a life of hard work and Christian faith to nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Bill Irvine was born in Texas City, Texas on May 8, 1921 and was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He fought in WWII and was a veteran of the cold war. His specialty was maintenance of atomic bombs. He retired as a master sergeant in Orlando, FL, and began a second career as a parole and probation officer. He enjoyed his final career because he was able to mentor troubled young men.
Bill was a member of Azalea Park United Methodist Church in Orlando, Florida for over thirty years. He was also a member of Mary Esther United Methodist Church in Mary Esther, Florida. He was recently attending Community Bible Church of Brooksville, Fl. until his death.
He was known for his love of discipline and was a master of wit. He learned to clog and performed with his wife and daughter later in life. Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his family.
