Ansley Richard Dew was born to Richard and Jessie on December 22, 1936 at the Regina General Hospital. Ansley grew up on the family farm south of Windthorst with his older sister Margaret and mom and dad. They moved to the town of Windthorst when Ansley was in his early teens but the land was still in the family and farming was a huge part of Ansley's life. During the time he farmed Ansley worked part time at Hoffman's International Dealership in Windthorst. Ansley also served his community during these years by sitting on the town counsel. He was very community minded and made many lifelong friends during his time in Windthorst. Ansley was blessed to have two great loves in his life and truly they were blessed to have him. Ansley met Irene on a trip to the Kipling Hospital where he was going to see his sick Mother. They were married in 1987 at a cottage on the shores of Katepwa lake in the Qu Appelle valley. Ansley and Irene spent many happy years in Kennedy. Ansley lost Irene in 2003. When a strong and enduring friendship turned into love Ansley married Elsie on September 18 2004. Since then we have had the privilege of have Ansley as a stepfather, grandfather and above all a friend. Ansley loved Sandra and Randy as though they were his own children and cherished Brett and Kelsey as his grandchildren. He was always gentle, generous and kind and we loved him dearly.
Ansley loved to tinker with any kind of machinery and he took great pride in his vehicles which he changed frequently as he loved to check mileage and record it along with oil changes and other services. He enjoyed walking and many times he and Sandra would be seen on their morning stroll. When he walked alone he was happy to join anyone who might be out there. Ansley loved animals especially dogs, he and Irene owned a small cross poodle which he often talked about fondly. He enjoyed our dogs which there were always plenty of. Ansley enjoyed puzzles, which were one of his annual Christmas presents. Then Ansley Elsie and Sandra would spend many winter hours with a puzzle to pass the time. Ansley enjoyed going out for meals and he treated his small family to them daily. He enjoyed family gatherings and one of our fond memories will be Elsie's 90th birthday last year.
Ansley is predeceased by his first wife Irene, his parents Richard and Jessie Dew, his sister Margaret Brown and nephew Lionel Brown. Ansley will be dearly missed by his loving wife Elsie, stepson Randy (Darlene), stepdaughter Sandra, grandchildren Brett (Michelle), Kelsey (Jay) and his bother in law Robert and his children Heather(Les), Darrell (Brenda), Deborah (Dwayne), and Norman (Linda).
