

He was predeceased by his parents Reynold James Lavallee and Betty Mae Ponace; sisters Anne Mellisa Ponace and Angie Lavallee; brothers Sherman (Todd) Ponace, Charlton Lavallee and David Redwood; auntie Bernadette Sangwais (Lavallee); Kokum Beatrice Laframboise; paternal grandparents Andrew Lavallee and Marie Louise Acoose, John and Mary (Alice) Ponace; uncle Laurie Poness; uncle Edward Ponace; auntie Darlene Bunnie; close cousin Michael Cornel Sangwais; Conrad Sangwais and cousin Aldo Meadows.
He is survived by his sons Chaz Lavallee and Cage Laliberte; siblings: Annette (John) Fortner-Ponace, Drina “Sherrye” Ponace and Tim Ponace; special nieces Ashlee and Ashlyn Lavallee; grandchildren: A’Ishah, Montana, Gladys, Jacob, Amaya, Bronx, Sienna and Benny; aunties: Biola (Bill) Meadow of Tucson, AZ, Debbie (Eli) Beardy of Winnipeg, MB, Maxine (Warren) Hall and Edie Ponace and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
A traditional wake will be held in the Zagime Community Complex, Zagime Anishinabek on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. The traditional funeral service will take place in the same location on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Terry Flamont officiating. The pallbearers will be: Jordan-Ray Ryan-Ponace, Dwayne Sangwais, Dean Ponace, Dion Ponace, Ashton Lavallee and Ryan Smoke. The honorary pallbearers are everyone in attendance. The interment will take place in the Zagime United Church Cemetery, followed by a traditional feast.
