It is with great sadness, the family announce the peaceful passing of their beloved Mother, Kokom, Gramma-Gramma and Auntie. Predeceased by her husband Albert (July 6, 2012), her Mom and Dad, Siblings Bessie Delorme, Victor Sparvier, Clifford Sparvier, Patricia McKay, daughter Carol, grandsons Richard Bear and Jamie Bear. Mom leaves to cherish her memory her children Darlene Bear (Blair Taypotat), Patti (Gerald) Delorme, Denise (George) Beaudin , Bradley Bear (Lorrie Hotomanie), Sisters-in-law, Marjorie Big Eagle, Grace Bear, Evelyn Isaac, Brother-in-law Orval (Cathy) Bear. Mom’s memory will also be cherished by 17 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Mom will also be remembered by special nephew John Sparvier, Special nieces Mildred Tanner, Maureen Morgan, Cynthia Smith and Lola Langford and many other family and friends. Born on the Cowessess Reserve, Mom later moved to the Ochapowace First Nation when she married Dad. She quickly became known for her hospitality, her quick smile and was "Mom" to many neices and nephews. Mom later moved to Regina after her children were grown where she spent a number of years working at the Regina Bus Depot. When she retired, she returned to Ochapowace to relax and enjoy her retirement however that was not to be. Instead, her and Dad raised three grandsons: Billy Louison, Shane Bear and Leslie Bear. On Sunday, July 14th, the wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Kakisiwew School, Ochapowace First Nation. On Monday, July 15th, a feast will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Christian service with Pastor Brig Judy officiating. Internment will be at the Bear Family cemetery located at Round Lake in the Qu’Appelle Valley. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of the Broadview Centennial Lodge for their compassionate care during Mother's brief stay.
