Our beloved Mackie left us suddenly on a Thursday night. Our memories of him are many; full of love, laughter and unfiltered, constant jokes. If Mack teased or insulted you, that meant he loved you! Family, friends, strangers; we all felt his love! Our hearts have broken, but we are comforted knowing that Mackie was surely greeted by mom (Mickey), dad (Pockey), Freda, Michael, Richard, Steven, Shirley, Eugene, Thedra, John and Patrick. We can just imagine the rejoicing in their reunion and it makes us smile. His departure leaves us a little less whole, and we ask our Creator to wrap his comforting arms around Mack’s children; Cherish, Darian (Harry), Mackenzie, Braydon and Shanoa. We will celebrate Mack’s life at the Cowessess First Nation Band Hall with a traditional wake on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 starting at 4:00 pm; on the following day, traditional services will begin at 11:00 am; Mack’s burial will follow at the Lavallee grave site on the Lavallee homestead; everyone is invited back to the Band Hall for a meal after burial.
