Our loving mom, Edythe “Gayle” Beck (McConnell), entered His Gates With Thanksgiving and Praise, the morning of September 3, 2018, 17 days from her 76th Birthday, held in love by her family. Gayle had strong faith, and lived that faith every day of her life. Gayle married her sweetheart, Bill, August 25, 1961. Wolseley became their home in the summer of 1971, where she’s remained until July 11, 2018, when she was admitted to hospital. She was a brilliant woman, full of knowledge, laughter, love and life. She took most pride in her family and time she was able to spend with them. She had a small circle of friends that she cherished, a favorite school friend from Swift Current, Myrna, who she loved and kept in contact with, her neighbour, Ruth, who took her on some great adventures in the last few years, Isabel, who she missed greatly after her move to Regina, and of course, her friends and co-workers from Weird Willies, Christine, Elvira, Florence and Dorothy. Christmas was her favorite season, celebrating Jesus’ birthday, and her home was decorated for the celebration, and each of her children love Christmas more because of her. She loved music, and singing, and always reminisced about her childhood and the fun they had. Her family sing-a-longs were a treasured memory. She loved most any craft and her hands were so talented. She loved painting the most, but also enjoyed crochet, sewing, sketching, plants and flowers, decorating, reading, music, calligraphy, flower arranging, dusting and ironing, Scottish history, Outlander, Facebook, Amazon, and Netflix! Most of all she loved God, and felt so Blessed and content with everything she had.
Gayle was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill (2010), her parents, Tib (2006) and Edythe (1992) McConnell, brother, Lyle (2018) her brothers-in-law, Richard Deters (1994), Bernie Brown (2011) and her sister-in-law, Joan (2015).
Gayle is survived by her 3 children, Curtis (Kathryn) Beck, Bonnie (Terry) Velestuk, Jodi (Shawn) Hilborn, her 9 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Beck (Tyler), Jordan (Karissa) Beck, Kyle Beck, Michaela Beck, Korri (Brent) Lemieux, Braden Velestuk, Darian Hilborn (Danielle), Dawson Hilborn, Jayden Hilborn, and 3 great-grandchildren, Anaya, Connor, and Nash Lemieux, Sister and Best Friend, Enid (Barry) Burton, brother Neil McConnell, brother and sister-in-laws, Don Devereaux, Gary & Donna Beck, Marilyn Deters, Carol & Jim Barmby, Arlene Brown, Ray & Judy Beck, Donna & Glen Winkler, and numerous extended family.
