Laryssa Germaine Sangwais

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Laryssa (Ree) Sangwais. After a courageous health battle, she succumbed to her illness on December 2, 2025 in Regina, SK at the age of 56 years. She was born March 30, 1969.

Laryssa was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Mary-Louise Acoose and Andrew Lavallee: paternal grandparents Young Boy and Anna Sangwais; parents George and Bernadette (Babygirl) Sangwais; sisters: Fran, Vanessa (Bun) and Corrine; brothers: Conrad, Michael, Clarence and Clayton (Bullet); special niece Alana and friend Trevor.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers: Colin, Rick, Carl, Drew and Eddie; her most beloved children: Sincere, Serenity and Rene; her favorite nephews Evan and Lee; special Aunt Biola and many other nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Laryssa was a pillar that brought strength and authenticity to her family. She represented unity and often opened her home and helped those who needed it. She filled her days with love and caring for her son Sincere, who was the center of her world and whom she cherished the most. She also had a passion for music and online gaming. She will be missed dearly by all who loved her and those she mentored and took under her wing.

A traditional wake will be held in Zagime Anishinabek Community Centre, Zagime Anishinabek, on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. A feast will take place in the same location on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service, officiated by Knowledge Keeper Terry Flamont. The pallbearers will be Sheldon Belanger, Levi Colin Glen Lavallee, Cameron Sangwais, Rene Severight, Sincere Strongquill and Evan Wesaquate.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped plan, prepare and support Laryssa’s celebration of life and the Allan Blair Cancer Centre at Pasqua Hospital for their care.
