Lois Mabel Martel (Miskosky) was born to William and Julianna (Schmidt) Miskosky at LeRoy. She was raised there and graduated from LeRoy in 1973. On June 28, 1975, Lois married Louis Martel. Throughout their 45 years of marriage, they had built 3 homes together. They sold their last home of 27 years before retiring to Louis’ hometown of Montmartre where they renovated his parents home giving Lois her dream kitchen. During their years in Regina they had two sons. Lois always worked outside the home until December 2015. She was a crafter, gardener, a country music fan and enjoyed making ceramics, dolls, Christmas ornaments and decorations.
Lois passed away on Christmas Day at the age of 66, in her home by the beautiful Christmas tree with the homemade Christmas ornaments that she made over the 45 years (many made by family members as well) lovingly decorated by her family this year. The summer of 2016 Lois was diagnosed with end stage COPD and became oxygen dependant.
Lois will be loving remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 45 years Louis and 2 sons, Ryan William Leo Martel (Carrie Stade) of Regina and step-grandchildren: Colt, Rebecca, Samantha, Elizabeth (Calvin) and great grandchildren who she adored fiercely and Kelly Martel of Montmartre who shared the same birthday as his mom and loved her so very much; her siblings: Cliff (Carol), Vernon (late wife Sharon), Gerald (Edna), Gordon (Carol), Jackie (late husband Pat) and Josie (late husband Jim); numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws of the Martel family, along with extended family who meant so much to her.
She was predeceased by her father William Miskosky (July 1986); twin sister Louise Schueller (January 2010); her mom Julianna Miskosky (May 2012); 3 brothers-in-law Pat Weisgerber, Jim Wakelam and Edwin Martel; sister-in-law Sharon Miskosky and her parents-in-law Leo & Madeline Martel.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
If friends so desire, contributions may be made to the Montmartre 1st Responders, Box 103, Kendal, SK S0G 2P0.
There will be another Angel
Around the throne tonight
Your love lives on inside of me
And I will hold on tight
It’s not my place to question
Only God knows why
I’m just jealous of the Angels
Around the throne tonight.
