Luana Gail Redwood, born as Luana Gail Assiniboine on January 10, 1964, left this world peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the age of 62 years. She was surrounded by her loving parents and stepmother; all her children; beloved daughter-in-law; niece; granddaughter and aunt. She leaves behind memories as a daughter, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a cousin, a friend and a teacher.
Meeting her on the other side is her partner and forever love Patrick Lavallee; stepfather Lloyd; sister Leah; brother Robin; grandparents; aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends and relatives.
Luana regrettably leaves behind her mother Lillian; father Romeo (Irene); siblings: Ryan, Joseph, Thomas, Darwin (Renee), Chris (Roberta), Taneesha, Shawn, Colleen (Barry), Richard, Darlene, Jaydin, Trevor and Pete; Lavallee in-laws: Bonnie, Carol, Rhonda and Kenny; her loving children: Teena (Kerry), Gary (Ashley), Susannah (Brandon), Autumn (Dalton) and Angelica. She also leaves a number of lovingly beautiful memories and lessons with her grandchildren; nieces; nephews; her four legged protector, Mini B. Redwood and her friends: Rosie, Sheri, Barry, Glenn, Tania, Gil, Kerri, Erica and Cheryl aka “My Cheri”.
A special thank you to the homecare team, Health Department and the Cowessess First Nation Pow Wow Committee for making her life a memorable one.
A wake will be held in the Band Hall, Cowessess First Nation on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the same location on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Glenn Pelletier, Allan Delorme and Peter Bunnie. The interment will take place at a later date.
