Nellie May Thompson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend Nellie Mae Thompson (Suktogegaskanna Wiya – White Wolf Woman). She was called home on December 19, 2022.

Nellie was predeceased by father Gerald Delmar Prettyshield; brothers: Dallen and Alvin Thompson, Marcus Streete, Clarence Thompson; sisters Darla Prettyshield and Marcy Ryder; paternal grandparents Edward and Estella Prettyshield; maternal grandparents Katherine (Kay) Thompson and George Ryder; great-grandparents Margaret (Maggie) Walker, Dennis Walker Sr. and Alfred Goodvoice; special grandpa Herbert Walker; uncle Bryan Thompson and aunt Donna Thompson.

She is survived by her loving children: Nichole, Brandon, Tristian, Gabriel and Scott Thompson; adopted son AJ Worrall, her children’s dad Carl Gambler; grandsons: Gavin, Brennan, Tierdyn and Kyle; she is also survived by her mother Gail Thompson; special aunt Leanne (Allan) Gurst; siblings: Raylene, Agnes, William, Nathan, Donelda (Erroll) Hotomanie, Ronette (Tony), Della (Rechelle), Jennifer, Allison, Ian (Joyce) Prettyshield, Sherry (Sean) Barrett, Sylvia (Dusty) Ryder, Kyle Ryder, Christopher (Karen) Ryder, Alvin (Bonney) Saulteaux, Woodrow (Woody) O’Watch, Trevis Thompson and Anthony Streete; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles.

The wake was held in Cega'kin Band Hall, Cega'kin Nakoda Nation on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service was held in Nellie's Home, Cega'kin Nakoda Nation on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed near Nellie's home.
