

He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Clementine Hazell; parents-in-law Edward and Helen Folbar and brothers Roy Hazell and Ernie Hazell; brother-in-law Denton Swanson and sister-in-law Cindy Folbar.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gail Hazell; sons Darwin(Penny) – Moose Jaw, SK and Garry (Karen) – Brooks, AB.; daughter Melinda Hazell – Windthorst, SK.; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret(Tom) Robertson – Spruce Grove, AB., Irene(Calvin) South – Ft. Saskatchewan, AB., Helen(Jud) Stover – Winterset, Iowa and Linda(Ken) Taylor – Stoney Plain, AB.; brother Dave(Linda) Hazell – Fort St. John, BC.; sisters-in-law Rose Hazell – Medicine Hat, AB., Florence Hazell – Glenavon, Sk., Evalina (Alex) Gall – Glenavon, SK. and Dianna Swanson – Weyburn, SK.; brothers-in-law Larry Folbar – Glenavon, SK., Ron Folbar – Glenavon, SK., Allan(Erlia) Folbar – Regina, SK. and Wilfred Folbar – Regina, SK. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Glenavon Saskatchewan, January 6, 1937. Moved to Manitoba in his youth. As a young man started his working career surveying railways in northern BC. In 1959 after meeting and marrying Gail he started working at Evans Motors and drove school bus in Glenavon. Welcomed the birth of Darwin in 1960, Garry in 1961 and Melinda in 1966.
In 1978 Jim moved the family to Stoughton so he could work with Augey Bus Company and a year later returned to Glenavon to be the Imperial Oil Agent. After closing out the bulk station he started working with the Co-op until his retirement in 2002. While living in Glenavon he sat on the town council and was a long time member of the Lions club.
