It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Phyllis Taylor. Born in 1922 on her family farm in rural Saskatchewan, she left this world on September 19, 2023 in Wolseley, Saskatchewan. She made the most of her 100 years on earth.
Predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Stanley.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Gail (Brent) Humeny and Brent (Grace) Taylor; grandchildren: Codi (Kevin) and their children Oliver and Thomas; Orry (Janelle) and their children Adalida, Sydney, and Leah; Riley (Derrick) and their children Easton, Wyatt, and Max; Hayley (Sean); Wesley (Morgan) and their children Tufftin and Griffin. Also left to mourn is her brother-in-law Jim Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.
During her lifetime she was many things to many people. Wife, mother, grandmother (Grannie), daughter, sister, aunt and friend, to name just a few. A hard worker who was not afraid to take on new challenges, she had many different careers, but the one common thread was teacher and leader.
Phyllis was heavily involved in her community – both Moffat and Wolseley. She continued to do church work and delivered meals on wheels "to the old people" until well into her nineties. Nothing made her happier than visiting with family and friends; she greeted everyone with a smile and a wave. She has passed along her love of animals, flowers, music, cards and community to her children and grandchildren. Phyllis will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The funeral service was held in St. Andrew United Church, Moffat, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. with Lynette Callfas officiating. Interment followed in Moffat Cemetery.
If friends so desire, contributions may be made to Moffat United Church, c/o Riley Gorniak, Box 222, Glenavon, SK S0G 1Y0 (or etransfer to [email protected]), or to Wolf Creek Friendship Centre, Box 461, Wolseley, SK, S0G 5H0
