William Petrychyn

William was born in Lemberg, Saskatchewan to Stephen and Angela Petrychyn "Petryszyn".

William met Heike Schneemann and they married on July 24, 1965. He worked many years in road construction and farmed south of Wolseley. He was an accomplished carpenter. He built their house in Wolseley that they called home, along with many of the furnishings and several homes before that. William had a great sense of humor and was known to tell some interesting stories, some of which may actually be true. He enjoyed coffee with friends, playing bingo, a good game of Hola and tinkering in the garage with his grandchildren.

William was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Angela Petrychyn; his siblings: Nicholas Petrychyn, Micheal (Jean) Petrychyn, Mary (Francis) Powel, Joseph Petrychyn, Johnny Petrychyn (infancy), John Petrychyn, Stephan Petrychyn, Peter Petrychyn and Ann (Lester) Stringer and his brother-in-law Tom Zaplachinski.

William is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Heike; his children: Sharon Petrychyn, Susan Campbell (Jerrold Brown) and David Petrychyn (Tammy); his grandchildren: Andrew (Jackie) Cassandra, Dustin, Lisa (Skyler), Alexis (Dillon), Logan, Austin (Jasmine), Ashton (Taylor) and Ayden; his great-grandchildren: Adalyn, Kyler, Jasper and Westyn; his sister JoAnne Zaplachinski; brother Marrion (Fran) Petrychyn; sisters-in-law Margaret Petrychyn and Betty Petrychyn; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Anne's R.C. Church in Wolseley, Saskatchewan on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., by Rev. Francis Hengen. The interment will follow in St. Anne's R.C. Cemetery, Wolseley, Saskatchewan.
