Constance Putnam Halfpenny

Constance “Connie” is survived by her sister; Judith Putnam Donathan, three children; Susan “Sue” Stoeckel, Janice “Jan” Bostrom and Stephen “Steve” Halfpenny, their spouses, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Connie was born in 1935 to Charles and Evelyn Putnam in Worcester, MA. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Prouty highschool in Spencer, MA. Connie met Thomas “Tom” Halfpenny while working in Gloucester MA one summer. They married in 1960 and had three children. Tom took a position with 3M which brought them to Minnesota in 1969.

Connie completed a bachelor’s degree program from Metro State in the 80’s and began a career in banking in the mortgage/loan department. She was also very active as a member of a bridge club, league of women voters treasurer and PEO member for many years. She was also very involved at her church, United Methodist of Woodbury. She loved to read, play cards and travel as well. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A visitation and funeral service will be held in her memory on Tuesday, October 15th at The Grove United Methodist Church, located at 7465 Steepleview Rd, Woodbury, MN 55125. The visitation will start at 10:00 am and the service will begin at 11:00 am with a lunch following.
