So sorry to hear of Dave's passing.  Spent many meetings in his office at 3M Aerospace department solving customer/product application issues.  God Bless Dave Forever.

I was shocked to just learn of Dave's passing.  Dave and I grew up together in Nordness, IA.  We had a lot of fun times before moving to Decorah where we lived a block apart.  We played a lot of touch football with the neighborhood boys.  I enjoyed watching Dave play basketball in both high school and at Luther.  We also sang in a couple of boys' quartets together.  Neat guy- -great memories.

Feb 23 - Much to my chagrin, I missed both the Wake and the Funeral (Weather was bad).  Like so many ex-3Mers, I too was quite emotionally upset when informed that Dave was no longer with us.  Words will never permit proper expression to describe my personal & working relationships with him.  We shared philosophical viewpoints and agreements on all subjects.  He was a dedicated, extremely honest, very careful person in all endeavors in life.

Dave was a member of our Decorah High School class of 1957.  He will be missed.

Dave and I first started working together late 1975.  We must have talked two to three times per day for an entire year as I needed his guidance.  That was the start of our long friendship and my admiration.

Dave was respected in the worldwide aerospace materials market for his openness, honesty, support, technical savvy, and his lab that operated with those same characteristics under his leadership.  Customers were always happy to see Dave whether on routine visits or during problem solving when their lines were shut down.  Someone they could rely on for help.

Then there are those of us who worked with Dave.  He was our friend, supporter, and confidant.  He was the same person at business meetings as he was at dinner.  The same in St. Paul, London, Tokyo, or Dusseldorf - a guy with whom you were happy to just to hang-out.  I was so lucky to have shared so many great times with Dave and just hang-out.

Dave was a great friend and mentor. I grew-up with 3M Aerospace as my dad, Al, was one of the original 3M Aerospace crew. As a youngster, Dave would stay at our house over weekends when he was in Southern California working with my dad. I was fortunate to take over my dad's territory in Southern California when he retired and got to work with Dave for many years and learned much about the industry from him. The lessons learned from Dave are still practiced daily in continuing my career at 3M Aeospace. It was an honour to have known and worked with Dave. Thoughts and Prayers to Mike and Matt

Dave was a great friend and co-worker. He will be missed.

Dave was more than just a work colleague he was a great friend. His support  of the 3M European Aerospace  business was much appreciated by his workmates . Our customers were always grateful to receive a visit from him as they respected his knowledge and understanding of our business.At the same time he was always ready to carry on the conversation in the bar. When we visited St Paul on business he was always there offering hospitality in the evenings and week- ends with barbecues at his home. What a super gentleman he was and the world is a sadder place without him. Thanks Dave  it was our  good fortune to have known you .

Growing up in Decorah, Dave and I have been life-long friends.  I will cherish the memory of Dave as a Decorah Viking teammate, a DHS classmate and a fellow Luther alum. RIP, my friend.

Dave was a talented athlete, good student, and great friend! It was a pleasure growing up in Decorah and playing sports with Dave. I saw him play in the 3M leagues and he was still outstanding. We both worked at 3M though never saw much of each other.  He will be missed!

We are so sorry for your loss.  Your parents will always be looking down on you with pride and love.
