Doris E. Klinkerfues

Age 105

Peacefully entered the arms of the Lord on May 10, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Ramsey Merritt, and George Klinkerfues; and son, William Merritt. Survived by daughter-in-law, Penny Merritt; grandchildren, Rae Ellen (Wally) Gnewikow, Lori (Sonny) Riner, William Merritt Jr., George Merritt, Melissa (Christopher) Krohn, and David Merritt; 11 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, & friends. Doris graduated from South St. Paul High School. She lived in West St. Paul for many years and loved to cook, garden, and attend card club. She retired from the Singer Sewing Machine Co. where she sold sewing machines as well as teaching women and children the joys of sewing their own garments. She loved to travel and for many years she spent her summers in Wisconsin and winters in Arizona. Doris was an active member of her church and truly enjoyed being a part of St. Mary’s Guild. She has touched many people's lives and will be missed by all who knew her. Thank you to all the special friends and relatives that that took time out of their busy lives to visit her each week. She was truly blessed by your friendship.
