Dorothy was born January 14, 1920 to Harold and Nannie Noel of Macomb, IL. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Noel, husband of 31 years, Ross Baker, and great-grandson, Seth Baker. She is survived by her sister, Mary Bea Melvin of Macomb, IL, son, Jerry (Marge), daughter, Jane (Ron) Ward, son, Craig; grandchildren, Dana Torkelson, Duane Baker, Nancy Hiebert, Holly Nelson, Michael Ward, Daniel Baker, Christopher Baker; 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In 1945 after WWII ended, Dorothy and Ross left IL for Hackensack, MN where they built Pebble Beach Resort on Ten Mile Lake. In 1952 they sold the resort and moved to Backus, MN where they owned a general store called The Corner Store for several years. Next Dorothy moved to Shakopee, MN and worked most of that time for Donaldson, Mfg. She retired in 1985 and moved to Mesa, AZ where she enjoyed the sunshine for 31 years. She volunteered at the Mesa Public Library, played piano for a chorus, and enjoyed playing cards. She was a 60+ year member and past matron of The Order of the Eastern Star. She had only lived in Red Wing for 6 weeks before she passed to her reward. Service on Tues., 3/29, 1PM at First Presbyterian Church, 503 W. 6th Ave., Red Wing, with visitation 1 hr. prior.
