Passed away peacefully on 3/5/2010. Preceded in death by parents, Mac Davis & Myrtis Wooley Davis; brothers, John & Imel Davis; sister, Delores Beals. Survived by loving wife, Lavina "Lee"; daughter, Kirsten (Inaki Bakedano) Davis; sister, Leola Davis; sister-in-law, Velma Davis; great-niece, Donna Oliver; brothers & sisters-in-law, Donald (Doris) Amundson & Helen (Raymond) Garland; many beloved nieces & nephews. Garland was born 12/4/1922 in Bude, Mississippi. In 1954 he married Lavina Mae Amundson. He served in the Marines during WWII. After working for the Chicago Police Department for 18 yrs., he worked for the Department of Housing & Urban Development until his retirement. He loved to play tennis & raise roses. Memorial service Tuesday 12 PM at FAITH ALLIANCE CHURCH, 520 Howard St. N., St. Paul. A gathering of family & friends 1 hour prior to service at church. Private family interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Alzheimer's NARFE or to the Faith Alliance Church.
