James Walter Jackson

He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and companion, whose presence will be deeply missed.

Born on October 21, 1941, James was the son of the late Walter and Ann Jackson. He was the founder and CEO of Classic Manufacturing Inc., where he dedicated many years of hard work and leadership. James took great pride in maintaining his home and cars and had a fondness for chocolate malts, caramel apples, and Coca-Cola.

He enjoyed car rides, boating, golf, and especially celebrating the holiday season with his loved ones. A faithful member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church, James found joy in attending his grandchildren’s school activities, sporting events, and dance performances.

James is survived by his loving sons, Jeff (Terri) Jackson and Steve (Chrissie) Jackson; his beloved grandchildren, Nick, Taylor, Anne, Henry, Andrew, Tim (Maggie), Lindsey (Isaac), Brooke, and Luke; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom he dearly cherished. He is also survived by his brother, Roger (Mary) Jackson, along with many loving nieces and nephews. James will be fondly remembered by his dear companion, Mary Callahan.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Gregg Jackson (survived by his wife, Samantha, and formerly married to Mariann and Kelly).

He is lovingly remembered by his former wife, Marlene Yarusso—the devoted mother of Jeff, Gregg, and Steve—who shared a meaningful chapter of his life and remains part of his enduring story. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Peggy Louismet, with whom he shared important moments and memories.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Talamore of Woodbury, Hospice of Midwest, and Wulff Funeral Home for their kind and compassionate care during James’s final year.

A visitation for James will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 4th St N, Oakdale, MN 55128. A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am. Burial immediately after Mass at Guardian Angels Catholic Cemetery.
