

Jim was born in Cardiff, Wales, on May 26th 1933. At age 17 Jim met his wife Devina at a dance hall. They dated for 7 years and were married in 1957. Their families were so large they had a ceremonies in both Roath and Caerphilly. Jim attended the University of London and graduated with a chemistry degree in 1955. After university, Jim entered the Royal Navy where he taught math at the Royal Navel College, Greenwich as a Sub-Lieutenant. During his service, Jim had the honor of meeting Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip. After the Navy, Jim started his career with 3M as a chemist. In 1965 Jim accepted an offer from 3M in St. Paul, MN. Jim and Devina relocated to Woodbury, MN where they raised three children and enjoyed a vibrant community filled with friends. Jim worked for 3M for 35 years in global chemical marketing. In retirement Jim and Devina spent time in both Sun City West, AZ and Woodbury, MN with friends and family. Jim loved traveling, painting, pottery, gardening, and fine dining.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife Devina, his mother Elizabeth (Nan) Lacey and father George Lacey.
Left to cherish and celebrate his legacy is his devoted daughter, Julia (Dan) Forster; son Peter (Ranae) Lacey and son David (Colleen) Lacey. His grandchildren Lexi (Will) Bellows, Ronnie (Kevin) Forster, Henry Lacey, and Parker Lacey; his great grandchildren Seren Bellows and soon Cyrus Bellows.
Jim will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
