

Born on December 5, 1946, in Schenectady, New York, Jeanne's life was marked by dedication, love, and a passion for innovation.
Jeanne graduated from Mater Christi Diocesan High School in Astoria, NY in 1965, and earned her teaching degree from Plattsburgh University in upstate New York. She spent her early years as a devoted teacher, shaping the minds of students with her wisdom and kindness. Her career took an exciting turn when she joined the telecommunications industry, where she played a pivotal role in developing the technology grid in the western region, leaving a lasting impact on the field.
Jeanne had a deep love for theatre, finding great joy in both attending performances and supporting the arts. This passion added another layer of richness to her life, fostering creativity and cultural appreciation within her family.
Retiring early, Jeanne chose to focus on her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She found immense joy in gourmet cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her loved ones. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and delicious creations, and her adventurous spirit took her to many corners of the world.
Jeanne is survived by her loving son, Ricardo (Michelle) Garay II, and daughter, Beth (John) Duff. She leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Ricardo (Celeste) Garay III, Lauren (Chip Shimota) Garay, Desmond Duff, and Ivy Duff. She is also survived by her brother, William (Laurinda) Simonson, and brother-in-law, Kevin Kelly. Jeanne's legacy extends to nieces, as well as other relatives, and friends who will remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Agnes Simonson, and her beloved sister, Diane Kelly.
Jeanne's life was a testament to her dedication, love, and adventurous spirit. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11 am, with a visitation one hour prior, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 4th St N, Oakdale, MN 55128.
