Mary Kay Mikes

Mary was born July 13, 1957, to Russell and Lorraine Roberts, in Bellfontaine, Ohio. She was a graduate of Forest Lake High School and St. Cloud State University, where she earned a degree in mass communications and political science.

She retired after a career in community journalism, corporate communications and government. While working for the Minnesota state government, she oversaw operations of the state mailing unit and Minnesota's Bookstore, and was director of the Print Communications Division.

Mary is survived by her husband, John, brothers Jim and Mark, sister Patricia, three nephews, two nieces and a great nephew. Funeral services were held Oct. 22 at Church of St. Francis Xavier in Shafer, MI. She was laid to rest Oct. 24 at the Hillside Cemetery in Ogema, WI.

Mary left behind a host of loving friends and family. Her quick wit, beautiful smile, generosity and loving heart will not be forgotten.
