Age 75

Succumbed to a courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy and ovarian cancer on October 25, 2010. Ruth grew up in Osmond and Creighton, Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a major in education and a minor in music. She taught second grade in Nebraska and California. Ruth married Vernon Elverson in Nebraska while living in California. They moved to Idaho and Minnesota, raising their four children. Preceded in death by parents, Loyd & Theo West; brother, Lewis West; sister, Mary LaVonne Fudge. She is survived by her husband, Vernon; sister, Barbara West; four children, Curtis, Diane Kindem, Susan Hewitt, and Andrea; three grand-children, Isaiah, Elizabeth, and Kate Hewitt; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was loved and admired by many and will be dearly missed. Funeral Service 1PM Friday, 10/29/10, at WOODBURY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7380 Afton Rd., Woodbury. Visitation 5-8 PM Thursday, 10/28/10, at WULFF WOODBURY FUNERAL HOME, 2195 Woodlane Dr., Woodbury & 1 hour prior to service at the church. Interment Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ovarian Cancer Society and/or Multiple System Atrophy Research.
