

He is survived by his wife Joanne and her three children Pam (Paulie) Dutchin, Randy (Teri) Frederick, Lori (Greg) Rumpca and his four children David Meyr, Carol (Kent) Kampa, Daniel (Diane) Meyr and Vicki Meyr; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Marie Meyr, brother in law Fred Riedl and granddaughter Jessica Rumpca.
Victor was born February 11, 1932 in Crete, Illinois. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and Crete High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Valparaiso University in 1954.
Before he entered the ministry Pastor Meyr worked for various insurance companies from 1954-1970. While residing in California he was an active member of various congregations. During this particular time in his life he served as a congregational treasurer and also as a chairman of a building committee.
In 1958, he married Ramona Vilmain in Chicago, Illinois. They had four children. It was later in life when he made the decision to answer his true calling and he attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois (1970-1974.) The curriculum at the seminary consisted of one year of vicarage which was spent at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monango, North Dakota. In 1974 he received a Master of Divinity Degree and the rest is history!
His first call was to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek Township, Red Wing Minnesota where he served as pastor from 1974-1994. It was in Red Wing, that his wife Ramona was called to her eternal rest after an 8 year battle with lupus. The Lord had compassion for his servant and blessed him with another helpmate Joanne. He married Joanne Helgerson Frederick in Hay Creek on October 9, 1992. Together they have seven children.
Pastor Meyr served as a secretary and treasurer of the Lyndale East Circuit from 1974-1985, the Hiawatha Circuit from 1985-1994, and also as the Minnesota South District Reconciler. He also served on numerous boards, committees and in various capacities throughout his ministry. They include Minnesota South Board of Directors, as a district mentor, a delegate for that national conventions in 1979 and 1992 as Chairman of the Handbook Committee for the Minnesota South District Convention in 1998, as a pastoral advisor from 1986 to 1990 and on the Red Wing Christian Health Association as well as being the president from 1977 to 1983.
He retired in 1994 from Immanuel Lutheran in Red Wing and served as a vacancy pastor at various churches until his retirement in 2010. Those churches included Faith Lutheran Church, Minneapolis; Fish Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church, Prior Lake; St. Peter Lutheran Church and School, Edina; Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, Bloomington; Risen Christ Lutheran Church, Stillwater; St. John Lutheran Church, Woodbury; Good Shepherd Church, Circle Pines and St. Peter Lutheran Church, Afton.
A visitation for Victor will be held Monday, July 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church, 1975 St Johns Dr., Woodbury, Mn, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
