Alfred was born in Patterson, California on August 2, 1955 to Alfred Mejia and Linda Sanchez Mejia. His family moved to Woodlake when he was a small child. Alfred was raised and educated in Woodlake, California, graduating from Woodlake Union High School, with the Class of 74. He was member of the Tiger basketball team. Alfred continued his education at Fresno State University. He enjoyed ancient history, Greek and Roman mythology, American History, especially the World War II era. Alfred enjoyed music, played the base guitar, car racing, socializing and people in general. He would speak to everyone.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda on September 3, 2002 and his father Alfred on August 6, 2017.
Alfred leaves to cherish his memory, three sisters, Rosanna Mejia and husband, Francisco Aguilar of Bakersfield, CA, Rebecca Mejia of Woodlake, CA and Sophia Mejia-Taylor and husband Dean of Woodlake, CA; uncle and aunt Raymond Mejia and wife Ramona of Visalia and aunt Mary Mejia of Woodlake , one niece and many extended family members.
Evening services will be held at the New Life Center, 293 Ropes Street in Woodlake, CA on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 9 a.m., also at the New Life Center. Burial will follow at Woodlake Public Cemetery.
