Joe Romero aka “Chief” or “Indio” of Woodlake, CA passed away in his home on Monday, October 21st, 2019. Joe was born in 1955 in Tulare, CA to Mary Louise Romero, who he loved dearly. Joe was a freshman in high school when he met the love of his life. Joe and Esperanza Romero enjoyed 43 amazing years of marriage. Together they raised three children in their lifelong hometown of Woodlake, CA. Joe is a proud veteran of the United Sates Army. He retired from the United States Postal Office after 29 years of service.
Joe was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Gonzalo Romero, Mike Candelas, and Angel Becerra. Joe is survived by his Mother, Mary Romero of Woodlake; two sisters, Barbara Castro of Ivanhoe, and Mary Romero of Visalia; three children, Joey (Monica) Romero, Isaac (Chauntel) Romero, and Connie (William) Romero-Robinson. Grandkids meant the world to Joe; Joey Romero, Mia Romero, Isabella Romero, Alex Romero, William Robinson, Allison Robinson, and Jude Romero. Numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Joe lived life the way life is supposed to be lived. He loved his family and friends. His smile and laugh would light up a room. Joe was one of a kind!!
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 3-5:30 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 134 North Cypress Street, Woodlake. Rosary will be prayed at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church 198 North Pepper Street., Woodlake on Monday October 28, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church followed by Interment at Woodlake District Cemetery.
