

of Reyes G. Monreal, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, uncle, and friend. Reyes was born December 23, 1917, and passed on, due
to a lengthy illness, at the age of 93 on March 14, 2011. Reyes was born in
Bakersfield, California, and was a long time resident of Visalia. He continued
to maintain his beloved hobbies of fishing, hunting, and manicuring his rose
garden until the last few years of his life. He will be remembered for his
fishing and hunting adventures and his great sense of humor.
Reyes was a hard worker in the construction field. As a loyal employee for
W.M. Lyles Construction Company for many years, he worked to help build Shasta
Dam and Terminus Dam (Kaweah Lake). He was a member of the Laborers'
International Union of North America, Local 294. He also was a member of the
armed services serving in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his sisters: Angela Marquez, Anaheim, and Maria
Luisa Gomez, Norwalk, and three brothers: Louis Campos, David Campos, and Frank
Campos.
Reyes is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, the former Herlinda Nava;
his four sons: Reyes (Jennie) Monreal, Sanger; Edward (Virginia)) Monreal,
Exeter; David (Lou) Monreal, Lake Forest; Reynaldo (Rose) Monreal, Diamond Bar;
and daughter, Gloria Elena (David), Cambria. He also leaves behind two sisters:
Carmen (Daniel) Cañas, Bellflower; Consuelo Monreal, Anaheim; and a brother:
Henry (Jessie) Monreal, Fresno. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave.,
Visalia, from 9:30-11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 18, 2011. Services will also be
held at Miller's from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Internment will follow at Visalia
District Cemetery, W. Goshen Ave. and N. Giddings Ave. Reception to follow;
information to be provided at service.
The family thanks New Covenant Care, Dinuba, for the compassionate love and
care that was so genuinely given to our father, Reyes.
