Ann Buehler died peacefully on Oct 8, 2010. Ann lived a life of service to Queens County, The City of New York, and the United States. For many years, starting in the 1950's, she was instrumental, as a volunteer, in the formation of the Boys Club Of Queens and subsequently became the first female Executive Director of a Boys Club.
Following her retirement, she remained active in supporting the Club (which has now become the Salah Hassanein Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens) mission of providing a peaceful environment for the intellectual and physical growth of young people.
Ann also served for many years as an elected County Commissioner and was also a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of New York during the administration of Abe Beam.
Her other activities were countless, but she valued most of all the wonderful people she met and loved as she made her way through a unique life. She was a member of the Church Of The Redeemer in Astoria and valued The Rev Canon Juan Andres Quevedo Bosch as a friend, a mentor, and a spiritual guide.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Coleman Davis Buehler and is survived by her daughter Sally Ann Grossman, her son Barry Buehler and his wife Susan, and her beloved granddaughters Anna Megan and Emily Jane.
Arrangements under the direction of Thomas M. Quinn & Sons, Astoria, NY.
