

Antonietta D’Angelo was called home on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. She was born on January 16, 1918 in Orsogna, Abruzzo, Italy and immigrated to Astoria, NY in 1957 with her family to join her husband who had arrived two years earlier. She has been a resident of Pompton Plains, NJ for the last several years.
The family will be receiving visitors Thursday, August 28 and Friday August 29 between 2 and 5 PM and 7 and 9 PM at Morisco Funeral Home 35-20 Broadway, Long Island City, NY. The Funeral Mass will be offered on August 30 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 23-25 Newtown Avenue, Astoria, NY.
Antonietta was a courageous woman, who during the second world war escaped from her Nazi occupied town and survived the Moro River Campaign in December, 1943. In her years in the United States she was a homemaker and seamstress, and lifetime member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She is known in her community as a gentle and faithful woman whose great joy was found in her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of forty seven years, Rocco, and daughter, Theresa Seevers. She is survived by her sons, Vincent (Marie), Anthony (Claire), Frank, and Mario (Patricia), eight grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Immediately following the service at Ferncliff Cemetery, all are welcome to have lunch at the home of Cindy and Adam D'Angelo in Pelham Manor, NY.
