Barbara Estelle Daleo

January 28, 1935 to June 7, 2022

Barbara Daleo was born in Richmond Hill, NY on January 28, 1935 and was a long time resident of Astoria for over 30 years.

Barbara and her beloved daughter Elyse were constant companions and best friends. Barbara turned her daughter onto her biggest passions at an early age - theatre, music and reading. The two loved their numerous travels to London where they took in as much theatre as possible.

Barbara was a beloved and well respected employee at Securities Industry Automation Corporation for 25 years. Barbara has thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years enjoying all of the theatre, book clubs, great dinners and red wine she could consume.

Barbara’s large group of close friends will miss her wisdom, humor, beautiful smile, generosity, stories of all of the theater greats she was able to enjoy over the years, immense love she shared so readily and phone calls that usually started with “hey sweetie, got a minute?”.

Barbara, we always told you that we wanted to be just like you when we grow up and boy is that ever the case.

In lieu of flowers, Barbara’s family asks that donations be made to your local animal shelter.
