

Blanca was raised with fifteen siblings; there was William, Aida, Manuel, Miriam, Jimmy, Robert, Jack, Joe, Mary, Iris, Sonia, Dolores, Johnny, Diana and Minerva. Blanca was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her family. She deeply cared for her brothers and sisters and provided unconditional love.
As a young girl, Blanca had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Blanca was an active child and loved to dance and entertain her family. She sang at the church "Daughters of Mary". In her spare time she liked baking. However, to Blanca, the most fun to be had was simple playing and spending time with her family.
A typical teenager, Blanca had a happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from George W. Wingate High School in 1964. She hoped to pursue a career in nursing.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Blanca enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. Later in life, she became close friends with Hearline Williams, Espy Vassallo and Berta Claudio.
Blanca worked hard to be a good mother to her daughter and she did her best to fulfill her needs. Blanca was blessed with two children, two daughters, Rosemary (deceased) and Sylvia. Another blessing for Blanca was the gift of two grandchildren, Andrew and Lucas.
Blanca enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Blanca worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was Special Diet Aide. She was employed for over 40 years at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. Blanca always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done. She met Joaquin Fred at the Hospital and an immediate bond was formed that lasted over thirty years. She was the love of his life and he adores her immensely.
Blanca enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. She was dedicated to her family and friends. She enjoyed attending parties and dancing. Loved going out to dinner with friends/family and enjoyed the simple things in life.
Blanca was a woman who took pride in upholding her beliefs. Blanca's faith was important to her. She was a member of chapel of the Good Shepherd over 20 years.
Blanca enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included family cruise to Bermuda, Punta Cana, Cancun and Puerto Rico.
Blanca was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Blanca will be remembered as an exceptional person.
Blanca was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. one of her favorite was Boobie a Siamese cat and Angel a ragdoll. They were best friends for 15 years with Boobie and 5 years with Angel.
When Blanca’s retirement finally arrived in 2007, she was well prepared. Even in retirement, Blanca continued to stay in touch with her old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Blanca was active in her community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered her.
Blanca passed away on January 26, 2015 at home. She is survived by her daughter Sylvia; grandchildren Andrew and Lucas, brothers and sisters. Services were held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. Blanca was laid to rest in Cypress Hills Cemetery located in Brooklyn, New York.
Simply stated, Blanca was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Blanca leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
