Bridget was born to Walter P. Bishop & Mary T. Bishop (Boyd) on March 8, 1964 in Woodside, NY.
Up until the move to Florida last year, Bridget lived her entire life in Woodside and the great parish of St. Sebastian’s where she graduated from grade school, was baptized, made her first holy communion, celebrated confirmation and was married.
Bridget is predeceased by her parents and survived by her husband Louis, her sister Mary Proietta (Joe) and brother Wally (Lisa), her niece Kathleen, and nephews, Walter, Thomas and Michael, her mother-in-law Fran Bruno and sister-in law Judy Hoffman, her cousins (sisters), Anne Tracy, Jennifer Barrett and Vanessa Cognard, her best friend Diane McKenna as well as friends and family too numerous to list.
When Bridget had her accident as a sophomore in high school, she spent over a year in hospitals and rehab facilities, determined to get back to St. Francis Prep and graduate with her classmates. From that point forward she committed herself to living her life to the fullest and she never looked back.
After graduating high school, Bridget went to Hunter College where she obtained both a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in social work.
From 1994 – 2011, Bridget worked as an underwriting assistant for Mutual Marine Insurance Company in NYC.
Bridget married Louie – the love of her life - in 2004. It was the ultimate love affair.
Bridget truly enjoyed life – she went everywhere - concerts, Met games, Woodside fundraisers, local bars and restaurants, countless vacations and celebrations. She was a diehard NY Giants and Mets fan.
Bridget inspired so many people by her strength, positivity, smile and love of life. Even on the tough days, she always felt that tomorrow was going to be a great day - a better day.
