A man of strong will and sharp mind, Charles was guided throughout his life by a deep and unwavering faith in God. The church was central to who he was. He was deeply involved in his parish, serving St. Vincent de Paul and faithfully collecting and counting donations to support those in need. His dedication to service was quiet, consistent, and sincere.
Charles worked in accounting throughout his career, holding positions with CBS, Dewey & LeBoeuf, and a transportation company, where he was known for his reliability and attention to detail.
Charles was a beloved brother to his twin, Robert Romano (wife Marie; children Lisa, Theresa, and Bobby), Richard Romano (wife Diane; children Michael, Gregory, Michele, Keith, and Steven), and Thomas Romano (wife Margaret; children Zachary and Justine). He also shared a lifelong friendship with his best friend, Robert Bonvicin (wife Jane; children Matthew and David), a bond that meant so much to him over the years.
One of Charles’s greatest joys was his beloved cat, Barney, who was truly his constant companion and a source of comfort and happiness. Outside of his responsibilities, Charles found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved watching Lifetime movies, enjoying delicious meals, and indulging in sweet treats. He had a quick wit, loved to laugh, and loved to joke around, but always delivered with charm and humor that made those around him smile.
Although he faced illness during the last five months of his life, Charles met this time with strength, resilience, and faith. He lived a good life—one defined by devotion to God, service to others, and the relationships he held dear.
