Clarence Adams SR. beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was born to James and Emeline Adams on January 9, 1942 in Manhattan, NY. Clarence was raised in the Bronx, NY and educated in the New York City School System. He stared to work at a young age and worked until 1996 when he retired from the New York City Housing Authority. He worked hard and took good care of his loved ones.
His family, playing the horses and helping people were what made him happy. If you needed a favor, someone to talk to, air conditioner installed, washing machine repaired, tiles on your floors you called Clarence.
He loved his grandkids so much and spent as much time as possible with them. He lovingly called them “Brick Heads.”
Clarence married the love of his life Nina 52 years ago on Nov. 16, 1961. They had three children Frances Yvette, Geraline Denise (Deceased) and Clarence JR. On March 26, 2014 Clarence was called home where he is now with his baby girl Geraline.
When thinking about Clarence we will remember a man who loved his family dearly and could tell the craziest stories that would leave you in stitches.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Nina, daughter Frances Yvette (Frank), his son Clarence JR. (Elizabeth) grandchildren Lonnie, Shaneima, Lenny, Lynnea, Christopher, CJ, Crystal, Junior, Demaris and DJ. 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters Inez, Eileen and Mildred, 4 brothers Eugene, Clayton, Bernard and Dennis, 1 brother in law, 4 sister in laws, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
We will miss him very much but we have such great memories of times spent with him. If you knew him you were one of the lucky ones.
Arrangements under the direction of David Funeral Home, Astoria, NY.
