Evelyne Y. Quemener passed quietly into God’s care on April 6, 2018, to join her husband, Yves, siblings, and parents. It is with saddened hearts that she leaves behind her daughter and son -in- law, Josianne and Rocco Passanante, as well as the joys of her life, her grandchildren, Valerie and Stephen. Evelyne leaves behind two beloved sisters, Lucie and Simone, as well as her close sister-in-law, Odette, who all remain in France.
Joining her brothers, Evelyne came to the United States in 1959 to begin a wonderful new life with her husband and, eventually, with her daughter as well. She worked in the restaurant business in New York City for most of her life. She lived with and helped raise her grandchildren before returning to Astoria to spend time with her friends. Evelyne has always had a great heart and many friendships.
It has been a blessing to have such a wonderful mother, mémé, and mother-in-law, and it is a true heartbreak to have lost her. Her memory will live on in so many hearts and for this we are thankful.
In lieu of flowers, Evelyne has requested donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or K9sforwarriors.org.
