Woodside NY - George D. Conroy passed away on Jan 15, 2018. He was born in Woodside on January 1, 1941 to Sara (Scullin) and Bernard Conroy. George proudly served his country in the USMC. He worked for 29 years with the NY MTA Police department. When he retired he would often remark how he was blessed to have worked in the best city with the greatest people. George's first home was Woodside but a close second for much of his adult life was Rye, NY where he leaves behind many cherished friends and countless memories. He is survived by his beloved wife Susan Valint Conroy, Daughters Michelle Conroy, Melissa Conroy Feighery and son in law Tommy, grandchildren Sara Sibilia, Danny, Aisling, Caitlin and Patrick Feighery. Sister in Law and nephew Jane and Alex Fernandez. He was a beloved brother to Susan Heath and Charles Conroy and his wife Noreen. He leaves behind nieces and nephews who loved and adored him. He died peacefully with his family at his side. George was a true gentleman and friend to all, May he Rest In Peace.
