

Stephen V. Skipper Sr. was born on April 29, 1943 to his parents Joseph Henry and Georgina Skipper in Jamaica Queens. He was the second of two sons, first being Lloyd Bruce Skipper Sr; his older brother of 5 years.
“Skip” or Skipper” was raised in Jamaica Queens and attended Shimer J.H.S. before graduating and attending John Quincy Adams H.S. while attending high school, he met the love of his life Geraldine Ellen Robinson. This was the beginning of a relationship that lasted over 51 years.
Upon graduation “Skipper” joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss Texas. During his stay he married his lifelong partner “Geraldine” on September 14, 1963. After 4 years of service they moved to Hollis Queens and started their family.
On December 13, 1965 they had their first child Michelle Denise Skipper and on March 17, 1968 their son Stephen Vincent Skipper Jr. was born. Shortly after, they moved to Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City.
Skipper” became employed with Macys Herald Square for 20 years and 2 years with ISA. He then went to the Shubert Organization as Director of Security where he worked for 30 years and FINALLY retired January 31, 2014.
Skipper loved to play basketball until his knees got bad, he took up a new hobby along with his wife Gerry called “Atlantic City”.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Joseph Henry Skipper and Georgina Skipper and oldest brother Lloyd Bruce Skipper Sr.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 51 years Geraldine Skipper, 2 devoted children Michelle Skipper - Talton and Stephen V. Skipper Jr., daughter-n-law Sheronda Jackson Skipper, son-n-law Walter Talton, 2 sister-n-laws Dorothy Skipper and Bettye Graham, 3 brother-n-laws, Willie Graham, Gregory Groce and Charles Booker, 6 grandchildren, Jasmine, Jacquelyn, Tony, Tyriek, Kyle and his “Little Bird” Maya Stephanie Skipper, 4 great -grandchildren, Jada, Taylor, Mason and Suri, nephews, Lloyd B. Skipper Jr., fiancé Michelle Rivera, Brian Keith Skipper and Ronald Clarke, great niece Shaquan and great nephew Elijiah, God Children, Dawn Clark, William Johnson, Chioma Alexis and Rhondaya Fishburne and a HOST of family and very dear friends.
“Mr. Tibbs “ is one in a million and will truly be missed.
