Valerie Anne Gerena

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Valerie Gerena (née Lewis), a beloved widow, mother, grandmother and sister, who peacefully left us after a brief illness. Born and raised in New York City, Valerie was a loving homemaker and artist at heart, whose creativity and warmth filled her home and the lives of those around her.

Valerie devoted herself to her children—Hector, Anthony, and Angela—and found immense joy in her four grandchildren: Madison, Vivian, Ziya, and Mason. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to family were the foundation of a home full of love and cherished memories.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, creativity, and family devotion will live on forever.

A visitation for Valerie will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Thomas M. Quinn & Sons Funeral Home, 41-45 58th Street, Woodside, NY 11377. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at St. Michael's Cemetery - Mausoleums/Cremation Niches, 7202 Astoria Blvd S, New York, NY 11370. Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary.
