

Mr. Almus Witt “Buddy” Shivley, 66, of Marietta, GA, formerly of Elba, AL, passed away December 31, 2014. He was born on September 1, 1948 in Paragould, AR to the late Reba and A.W. Shivley, Sr. After his graduation from Kennett High School, Buddy honorably served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War era. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Arkansas State University. Buddy enjoyed a career in the insurance industry. He was an avid reader and boater. Most important to Buddy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He moved from Elba to Marietta to be close to his children. Buddy’s favorite times were with his wife daughters and grandkids boating and dining. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Sharp. Buddy leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 ½ years, Carolyn Shivley, daughters, Anna Council (James) and Sarah Jane Robbins (Michael), grandchildren, Madyson, Jael and Landon Council and Amy and Owen Robbins and brother, Joe Shivley of Poplar Bluff, MO. Memorial services will be held at 11am on January 10th at St Andrew UMC in Marietta, GA and again at 11am January 17th at Elba UMC in Elba, AL.
