

Carmine Alleva, 76, of Hartford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025. Born on November 5, 1948, to Anthony Alleva and Sue Dec, Carmine lived a life defined by love, service, and unwavering faith.
Above all, Carmine deeply loved his family. His beloved wife, Barbara, fondly called him her “golden-hearted husband.” He was a proud father to Jennifer (Michael) Hunter and David Alleva, and a cherished grandfather to Jake, Derick, and Jennifer (David), as well as great-grandfather to little Vivian. His family was his pride and joy, and he held them close in both heart and spirit.
Carmine was a man of faith and found great strength and purpose through his church community. A proud United States Marine, he carried the honor and discipline of his service throughout his life. He was a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and had a deep respect for those who served and protected.
His passions included playing golf—where he not only played but also enjoyed crafting golf clubs—and bowling, achieving an impressive 275 game. He also had a love for boxing and was a fan of the sport throughout his life.
Carmine was a man who loved and respected everyone he met. His warmth, kindness, and humility left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Sue Alleva.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Hunter; son, David Alleva; grandchildren, Derek, Jacob, and Jennifer (David); great-granddaughter, Vivian; and sisters, Caryn (Raymond) Furbush, Lynn (James) Alleva-Bevins, and Paula Alleva, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Rd, Marietta, Georgia, 30066. A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM at Transfiguration Catholic Church. A reception will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Carmine will be laid to rest on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114, with Marine Corps honors. The procession to the cemetery will leave Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia, 30188, at 9:30 AM on July 9th. Carmine’s legacy of love, strength, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
