Christi Marie (Hanchett) Hurst passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 9, 2025 after a serious brain injury due to a fall. She never complained during the time she was in ICU no matter what. She was recovering beyond expectations in rehabilitation at Wellstar Kennestone, Marietta, GA when an unexpected set back occurred. She was unable to come back from that serious setback.
Christi was born at the Navy Hospital in Beaufort, SC on July 6, 1970 to 1st Lt. (USMC) and Mrs. Barry Hanchett. From the day she entered this world she brought joy to everyone who met her. Later she had a little sister born, Lyndee Hanchett, and they grew up enjoying many happy adventures together. She also has many cousins in Michigan and Indiana that she loved being with.
Christi graduated from Beaufort High School in 1988 after spending three years going to school in Stuttgart, Germany where her father was stationed with the family. While living in Germany she became an avid skier and loved to travel with her family and friends. Her personality, whether she was in France, Italy or any other country, was always amazing as she easily met new friends no matter what nationality they were.
Music, concerts, animals, snow skiing, horseback riding, tennis, jet skiing, water skiing and especially people were what Christi thrived on during her 55 years on earth. She loved being around people, doing things for people and giving her heart and soul to make them happy. She always put her family and friends first; you could tell it made her happy when you saw that loving smile. Perhaps that is why she spent over 30 successful years in the entertainment industry selling tickets for concerts, theater events and many sporting events to include the Master’s and Super Bowl. If it made people happy to go to the events, it made her happy.
She met her future husband, David Hurst, in the summer of June 1998; they were married on May 11, 2002 in Beaufort, SC. They renewed their vows in 2023 on a beautiful beach front resort in Belize. They were married 23 years this year. Although they never had any children, there was always an abundance of love in their home in Woodstock, Ga.
She not only loved her husband, family and friends dearly, she also loved children, her cats and their two sweet pups. When she, her husband and their two pups went to visit her parents in Connestee Falls, NC, you would often see her on a paddle board with their two dogs.
One never knows when they will be leaving this earth; we never know how much time we will have with others. We do know one thing, when a special person like Christi leaves us they will never be forgotten. We will meet them again whether dancing on stars or singing to the moon. Until we meet again, Christi, remember you have a special place in all of our hearts who have had the privilege of meeting you. You put so much good in the world; we love you.
Ronald Reagan: “When a child loses his parent, they are called an orphan. When a spouse loses his or her partner, they are called a widower or widow. When parents lose their child, there isn’t a word to describe them.”
Karen Waldrup: Friend and upcoming Country Western Singer; “Christi I hope you are dancing in heaven today like you always did at our shows.” “We will never forget the energy & excitement you always brought to the music.” “Rest in Peace my friend & avid lover of our music.”

A funeral service will occur Friday, July 18, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, Inc., 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia 30188.
